harakah and demonstration for example was never banned, just demonstration were controlled and banned ONLY if it causes danger. yes, Mahathir has done terrible mistake at the very end of a wonderful, wonderful 22 years as a PM, by naming Pak Lah as his successor, but he is doing his part now to repent that mistake. ANd what have you actually did (done?) for Malaysia?
I will never support Mahathir or anyone for that matter fully. They human and they make mistake. But to have so much hatred to one man who has taken singlehandedly so forward is very disturbing. No one loves Malaysia and Malays as much as Mahathir. even the so-called racist card is totally fine since it is just a call for Malays to rise and CHALLENGE others, not eliminate them. Again, what all of you guys that hate Mahathir so has did (done?) for Malaysia?

Many people like to praise Dr Mahathir because of his success in building the national pride with national car project (Proton) and the building of once-upon-a-time the world tallest Petronas Twin Towers. While history will take its own course to give a fair and just weight upon the contributions which Dr Mahathir had done to the Malaysian Nation, no one shall be deemed rational to idolize Dr. Mahathir or even deify Dr. Mahathir while he is nothing more than a human of blood and breathe. All humen err.
Trying to justify the use of racist card by the ambiguous rationale of country love or national love is terribly absurd and dangerous to the whole nation. Even the Nazis of Germany and Fascists of Italy would know how to play the racist card with the disguise of country love. The biggest mistake we could have done from now at the expense of the future of our next generation is to keep quiet at this critical moment and allow pacifism to provide nourishment to further growth of Racism or Fascism in Malaysia. Therefore it is terribly wrong for us to tolerate or encourage using the racial cards in order to gain or regain the political power by any politician.
Surikell is asking that what all the bloggers who oppose Dr. Mahathir have done for Malaysia. I wish to tell Surikell that these opposition bloggers have more or less helped to shape up a Malaysia of better racial and religious tolerance among all the people of multi-ethnics society. Different people of different ethnic backgrounds and different religious backgrounds would never find the opportunities to understand the position which their counter-part rigidly upholds if all of them do not communicate and exchange their ideas in two-ways communication method. At least Dr Mahathir's website provides a forum for our Malaysian people to share what we think in our mind about the present state of our political structure or to address our grievances against the counter-part. Somehow or rather, this exchange of ideas would help us to promote a better understanding among all the different ethnics in Malaysia.
I personally think that it is a bit too rude to ask the other Malaysian what he/she has done for Malaysia. In my opinion, even a farmer who lives in subsistence level in Malaysia will have much better contributions for his nation than an iron fist political leader, for the farmer will have never caused the damages to the other citizen by insisting that he is more right than his political opponent and therefore his political opponent shall be sent to ISA detention camp.
You may not be a former ISA detainee, but many other Malaysian citizens are.

I am en. I’m here to comment on your comment on my comment from chedet.com. You call yourself “independent” political analyzer. However your tone so clearly voiced strong hatred towards Mahathir. I clearly said that I’m not with him, nor against him. Now, that what I would like to call independent.
Did I ever say it’s right to say you can be racist if you built a twin-tower? I did not. What I simply saying is that, yes, Mahathir has done his share of damages to Malaysia. Not one leader in the world has been perfect. As you say, human error. However, you are a fool if you say everyone is the same. No. Mahathir is simply the best leader we ever have in Malaysia history. As simple as that. I don’t believe Hadi Awang, Anwar, Abdullah, or even Tunku could achieved what he has, but that is a personal matter.
I must ask you something though. What is your race? If you’re Malay, wouldn’t you be a little happier to see other Malays doing well? I’m not saying you’ll be happy if other races eliminated from the face of the Earth. When Ban Ki-Moon was elected as a General Secretary of UN, I, for one was happy since another Asian was held by high regard in the world. Won’t you be? If you’re not, then you really forgetting where you coming from.
I really, really, really hope that Malays can be as excellent as everyone else in the world and WORKS HAND BY HAND WITH OTHER RACES in order to make the world a better place. I have so many Indians and Chinese friends. I have never ever thought of destroying them or the like, just hoping I can as good as they are, and work with them, be as efficient as them, and so on.
You sounded like a really bright, matured, and it is an honour to be quoted by you. However, do you really think that majority of Malaysian, (I’m saying Malaysian, not Malays. This includes other than Malays) would so kindly vote Mahathir’s leadership for 22 years? Do you personally believe that Mahathir paid billions of Ringgit for rakyat to vote for him? If you do, then you surely have never paid your due as a voter. I have. And I don’t get one cent from choosing Barisan National. Just like my father, my mother, sisters, aunties, uncles, grandfathers, grandmothers, friends, teachers, strangers I met, Yahoo! Pool partners, and the list goes on.
Most importantly, would you really, really think that Malaysian Chinese Association and Malaysian Indian Congress would stick to Barisan National if they think he is a pure racist inside out? Surely Mahathir can’t put all millions in MCA and MIC and other indigenous parties under ISA? Yes he is all powerful but ke’s not the last king of Scotland. He is not Pol Pot. The way I see it, we all make mistakes. The more mistakes we did, the more people hated us. Since in 22 years most Malaysian have benefited from Mahathir’s leadership, (I’m not talking about some government supported student who went aboard to study using government money and ends up unwilling to pay the debt and still hate the government. Or some other racist guy who gladly raise a family and not one of them killed because they picked the wrong party and still says that Mahathir is dictator. No. I’m talking about farmers who able to use modernized machine because Mahathir supported technology, or fishermen who were able to buy better boats by Mahathir’s idea of Bank Pembangunan and Bank Pertanian or parents who were able to raise their family so good that like 10 of them have doctorate or simply students who were able to study since Penyata Mahathir years ago and achieved a good life and recognise that it would be the same if Malaysia was ruled with iron-fist leader like in Afghanistan or Colombia or Myanmar or many African countries) I think he has done more good than bad.
And have you ever been detained by ISA? If not, you have no right to speak about it. If you do, it's your own fault. You see, so many people oppose Mahathir during his time. Musa HItam, Ku Li, Abdullah, Hadi Awang, ANwar, Nik Aziz, and the list goes on. Not everyone got ISAed. Only those who say provocative and fiery speeches that can cause damage to the Malaysian minds and morales. Again, you're a bright mind. How may people who doesn't vote for Mahathir , or saying they hated him and get thrown to jail just like that?
