Tun Dr. Mahathir,
An old Chinese saying goes, "Those who know how to react correctly to circumstances will then turn up to be the heroes!"
By crossing over to Pakatan Rakyat, the defector BN MPs are indeed helping the Malaysians to board a PR rescue ship while the BN Titanic is going to sink by itself. Whether there is any competent captain who is still available for making a quick fix to the sinking ship of BN Titanic, it really doesn't matter now.
Even if the BN Titanic can be tugged to a shipyard on time, it will still not be able to function well if it has to be put on service again. It is the right time from now on for the BN Titanic to withdraw itself from the service for at least another four or five years since a major overhaul is deemed to be imperative on the BN Titanic. Four or five years can barely be enough for the BN Titanic to complete the overhaul repair procedure. Therefore it is no point for the Malaysian people to continue sitting on board of such a wrecked ship as the BN Titanic that has already lost its direction due to serious dysfunction in the compass and the steering mechanism and that is going to head for nowhere before the damage can be completely fixed up! The life of the ordinary Malaysian citizens are far more valuable than the life of the BN wrecked ship. Therefore please don't continue to waste time talking to people about the goodies and candies of BN again!
Tun may have no confidence in the PR rescue ship but there is always an airline ticket available for Tun if Tun wants to head for either Brazil or Zimbabwe. I just pray that no UMNO putras will attempt to incite racist sentiment and instigate the armed forces to declare a state of emergency and to seize the political power with military rule for the next few days or so. Tun may be detained also if Tun continues to outspokenly talk about racialism under an undesirable junta rule! Therefore please help to prevent or reject a junta rule in Malaysia because no checks and balances will be enjoyed by us again if the junta is to acquire the absolute power of reign.
"Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak." - John Adams

Tun's statements are listed below for reference:
"17. In my last article I have tried to reduce the anti-BN feeling. To me it is still a great coalition, still the best instituton in the multi-racial Malaysian politics.
18. The problem is incompetent leadership. You don't sink the ship because the captain is not handling it properly. You remove the captain."

Social Contract deserves a chance for change when needs arise!
Tun Dr. Mahathir,
Shall I call for your attention to an article contributed by Madam Tan Siok Choo? Madam Tan is the sister of the late Tun Tan Siew Sin. Madam Tan's father, Tun Tan Cheng Lock, was one of the memorable great founders of MCA:
http://www.sun2surf.com/article.cfm?id=25455
Let us make a comparison between two persons who are involved in the argument about the issue "Chinese are just penumpang (squatter) in Malaysia" as flared up by Ahmad Ismail.
It is said that Ahmad Ismail's grandfather was an Indian citizen who migrated to Malaysia and then got married to a Malay girl. Most people in Malaysia like to call the descendants of Indian-Malay cross-marriages by the name of "Mamak".
A nephew of Madam Tan Siok Choo is a personal acquiantance of mine. As far as I know, most Madam Tan's family members practice the "Baba" and "Nyonya" lifestyle and are only well versed in Malay and English and they can hardly communicate with other Chinese in the Chinese language. In view of the long history of loyalty and national attachment to the then Tanah Melayu and now Malaysia by Madam Tan's family and their ancestors, what is it that really makes Ahmad Ismail justifiable to call Madam Tan a "penumpang" and to claim that he himself has much better rights and is better qualified than such a loyal Malaysian resident of Chinese blood as Madam Tan Siok Choo to deserve a citizenship of Malaysia?
Since we all live in a dynamic society, a social contract that is perceived to be so good and so well-balanced amongst multiple races 51 years' ago shall not be forever taken as a predestined testament which is never changeable. If a change is really needed, then I sincerely believe that it will be good if the change in the social contract is to be made possible in good faith by mutual agreement amongst the multiple races of Malaysia. Parliament seems to be the best place to discuss on such a change and the change should be brought about by casting a majority vote in the parliament and not by exchanging unseeming or sensitive words between two hostile parties on the street or on any roadside political forum. Of course, the change which some people demand now may also include the permission be given by the Speaker of Parliament for tabling a special motion which requires "a vote of no confidence against someone" in the Parliament and vote-casting in relation to this motion be permitted to carry out during the parliamentary session.
Changes are just the common natural responses that are usually initiated by humans in order to make much better adaption to the living environment. Therefore, I believe that a social contract should be allowed a chance for revision when needs truly arise.

Malay Racism in action
MALAY RACISM IN ACTION
The ruling coalition of Malaysia called National Front (Barisan Nasional) is now faced with the crisis of party membership disintegration due to the racist remarks being made by an opportunist politician, Ahmad Ismail. The racist remarks begin with Ahmad ismail's name-calling of Chinese Malaysians as the squatter (penumpang) in Malaysia and then developed into the recent condemnation on Chinese by accusing the Chinese Malaysians of intending to seize the political control on the Muslims after having seized the economic control in Malaysia.
The racist remarks by Ahmad Ismail from the dominant ruling party in the ruling coalition of Malaysia, namely United Malay Nations Organization (UMNO), has caused feud between a component party of the ruling coalition, namely Parti Gerakan Rakyat, and the Penang State Liason Commitee of UMNO. The racist remarks have also been strongly protested by another important race-based component party which represents the majority Chinese Malaysians by the name of Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi finds no solution to appease the component parties so far in the midst of the democratic process of UMNO party election. It seems that the Prime Minister, who is generally known as a weak political leader, has lost the leadership authority to initiate punishment action on the defiant UMNO member, Ahmad Ismail, who had repeatedly violated the national leader's call for the non-sensationalisation of racist issues in Malaysia. The political crisis of Malaysia is estimated to last until the completion of UMNO party election in December 2008.

Malay Facist Nuisance will cause an economic disaster!
Tun Dr. Mahathir,
Ahmad Ismail is really a coward with no ball. There were several eyewitnesses who could confirm that Ahmad Ismail did name-call the Chinese Malaysians "penumpang" (squatter), which is a term even worse than pendatang (immigrant) when going into the ears of the Chinese Malaysians. However, he now tries to deny that he did say that word "penumpang". He did ask the Chinese Malaysians to go back to China but now he claims that he never said that. He just wants to twist and turn now in order to avoid further trouble. That shows that Ahmad Ismail is really a big liar cum opportunist.
If all the Malay contestants want to win in UMNO party election, then I hope Tun can call upon the Malay contestants not to attempt using the racist tactics again. Their racist tactics will not only shoo off most foreign investors from Malaysia, but it will also force the non-Malays to divest their assets in Malaysia and flee to overseas capital market in order to avoid the Malay facist nuisance! Tun please watch up for yourself since your several sons are still betting a very high-stakes in Malaysian stock exchange market. The Malay racists' poisoned shrimp tactics in fishing on the UMNO political gain will eventually hurt the Malay tycoons more than anyone else! Just bear in mind that the non-Malays shall not be turned into a scapegoat again when the financial status of the Bumi companies are to be deteriorating and falling into the classification of "PN4" or "PN17" in the Malaysian Stock Exchange since the Malay racists are the culprits who ask for the economic disaster.
Even such a nice Malaysian Chinese political leader as the acting president of Parti Gerakan, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, is considering withdrawal from Barisan Nasional's membership. How many friends can those people in UMNO get now if they are to remain as a racist party?
Tun, please form a new political party with your own political influence and don't ever get bogged down with the present UMNO which has already lost its reputation and credibility to continue as a respectable dominant party in Malaysian politics. Forming a new party will be an easier and cleaner way for you to build up another political empire which will sooner or later be chaired by your beloved clever son, Mukhriz Mahathir. I think the name "Parti Mahathir" will sound much nicer than "Parti UMNO Moden" for the new party since with the name "Parti Mahathir", Tun does not need to continue living in the dark shadow of UMNO. And with "Parti Mahathir", Tun will have a much stronger assertion to portray yourself prominently with the massive support from your mundane followers.
Do you want to give the "Parti Mahathir" suggestion a serious thought, Tun?

Shall Playing Racial Card be justified?
en said... Isaaj, ...
harakah and demonstration for example was never banned, just demonstration were controlled and banned ONLY if it causes danger. yes, Mahathir has done terrible mistake at the very end of a wonderful, wonderful 22 years as a PM, by naming Pak Lah as his successor, but he is doing his part now to repent that mistake. ANd what have you actually did (done?) for Malaysia?
I will never support Mahathir or anyone for that matter fully. They human and they make mistake. But to have so much hatred to one man who has taken singlehandedly so forward is very disturbing. No one loves Malaysia and Malays as much as Mahathir. even the so-called racist card is totally fine since it is just a call for Malays to rise and CHALLENGE others, not eliminate them. Again, what all of you guys that hate Mahathir so has did (done?) for Malaysia?

To Surikell (en),
Many people like to praise Dr Mahathir because of his success in building the national pride with national car project (Proton) and the building of once-upon-a-time the world tallest Petronas Twin Towers. While history will take its own course to give a fair and just weight upon the contributions which Dr Mahathir had done to the Malaysian Nation, no one shall be deemed rational to idolize Dr. Mahathir or even deify Dr. Mahathir while he is nothing more than a human of blood and breathe. All humen err.
Trying to justify the use of racist card by the ambiguous rationale of country love or national love is terribly absurd and dangerous to the whole nation. Even the Nazis of Germany and Fascists of Italy would know how to play the racist card with the disguise of country love. The biggest mistake we could have done from now at the expense of the future of our next generation is to keep quiet at this critical moment and allow pacifism to provide nourishment to further growth of Racism or Fascism in Malaysia. Therefore it is terribly wrong for us to tolerate or encourage using the racial cards in order to gain or regain the political power by any politician.
Surikell is asking that what all the bloggers who oppose Dr. Mahathir have done for Malaysia. I wish to tell Surikell that these opposition bloggers have more or less helped to shape up a Malaysia of better racial and religious tolerance among all the people of multi-ethnics society. Different people of different ethnic backgrounds and different religious backgrounds would never find the opportunities to understand the position which their counter-part rigidly upholds if all of them do not communicate and exchange their ideas in two-ways communication method. At least Dr Mahathir's website provides a forum for our Malaysian people to share what we think in our mind about the present state of our political structure or to address our grievances against the counter-part. Somehow or rather, this exchange of ideas would help us to promote a better understanding among all the different ethnics in Malaysia.
I personally think that it is a bit too rude to ask the other Malaysian what he/she has done for Malaysia. In my opinion, even a farmer who lives in subsistence level in Malaysia will have much better contributions for his nation than an iron fist political leader, for the farmer will have never caused the damages to the other citizen by insisting that he is more right than his political opponent and therefore his political opponent shall be sent to ISA detention camp.
You may not be a former ISA detainee, but many other Malaysian citizens are.
